Fond Farewell Blog Hop

In December of 2010, I was browsing through the rubber stamps on Ebay and a set of stamps by "The Angel Company" caught my eye.  Never before had I heard of this company, but a Google search brought me to their website.  I fell in love with their images and their prices.  Even though I had not been thinking about direct sales, I wanted these stamps- and LOTS of them!  After talking with a couple of my friends and doing some praying I decided to take the plunge.  My kit arrived late January and I got to work.  Everyone that saw the catalog loved it and I was my best customer.
Sadly, "The Angel Company" has closed it's doors.  This blog hop is a tribute to all the Angels and our founding Angel mother- Mischelle Smith.  Thank you Mischelle for allowing me to be a part of your Angel troop and providing me with some spectacular rubber stamps.  I have been truly blessed by the experience.  I also want to thank all my Angel sisters for posting so many beautiful cards and projects that have inspired me and for the camaraderie especially during this last week.  I will not be putting my wings in a drawer, I will put them on whenever I paper craft.  My prayers and best wishes to Mischelle and my Angel sisters.  Thank you also to my customers and to my friend Renee, who teaches me wonderful things.

This was to be our August Blog Hop and I had my cards ready before we knew that "The Angel Company" was closing.  Now we are calling it a "Fond Farewell".  Fittingly my cards feature wings- on butterflies.

"New Creation"
"New Creation" is one of the new stamps in the 2011-2012 catalog.  The background paper was a free download from Digi House.  I stamped the image with Palette Noir ink, being careful to leave the butterfly uninked so I could use Versa Mark (pad and pen) on the butterfly.  Since the palette ink dried more quickly, I waited briefly after stamping the image then applied embossing powder to the still moist butterfly.  A little heat and the butterfly is a pop of color, finished off with a blue gem on its back.

"Lovely Butterfly"
"Today would be a lovely day to be a butterfly" is the phrase on this stamp, another beautiful stamp from the 2011-2012 catalog.  The "Maggie" collection was used for the background of this double mounted image.  The 3-D butterfly was cut on my Silhouette using glossy photo paper.  Using a technique I learned from my friend Renee, I pounced some pearl paint on the butterfly giving it a shimmery effect, then stamped it with "Floral" GWP.  Color was added using copic markers.  The lacy band on the image was carried across the card by layering real lace underneath the image.

Check out these wonderful projects by my Angel sisters:
